README
asin
Compute the arcsine of a number.
Installation
npm install @stdlib/math-base-special-asin
Usage
var asin = require( '@stdlib/math-base-special-asin' );
asin( x )
Computes the arcsine of a number
(in radians).
var v = asin( 0.0 );
// returns 0.0
v = asin( -3.141592653589793/6.0 );
// returns ~-0.551
The domain of x
is restricted to [-1,1]
. If |x| > 1
, the function returns NaN
.
var v = asin( -3.14 );
// returns NaN
Examples
var linspace = require( '@stdlib/array-base-linspace' );
var asin = require( '@stdlib/math-base-special-asin' );
var x = linspace( -1.0, 1.0, 100 );
var i;
for ( i = 0; i < x.length; i++ ) {
console.log( asin( x[ i ] ) );
}
Notice
This package is part of stdlib, a standard library for JavaScript and Node.js, with an emphasis on numerical and scientific computing. The library provides a collection of robust, high performance libraries for mathematics, statistics, streams, utilities, and more.
