Constructor which wraps a numeric value in an object.

Installation

npm install @stdlib/number-ctor

Usage

var Number = require( '@stdlib/number-ctor' );

Number( value )

Returns a Number object.

var v = new Number( 5.0 );
// returns <Number>

Notes

  • This constructor should be used sparingly. Always prefer number primitives.

Examples

var randu = require( '@stdlib/random-base-randu' );
var Number = require( '@stdlib/number-ctor' );

var v;
var i;

for ( i = 0; i < 100; i++ ) {
    v = new Number( randu() );
    console.log( 'typeof %d: %s', v, typeof v );
}
