README

Drone-Pano

Generates a CSV file (litchi's format) of points for a drone to fly to to take pictures that can then be stitched together into a single larger panoramic photo

Usage

node index.js --lat=37.481171 --lng=--122.153209 --elev=120m --radius=60m \
  --y0=-70 --y1=-110 --z0=-45 --z1=45 --degPerPhoto=10 > flightplan.csv

This is all based around an imaginary "origin point", and a sphere at the specified radius around it. The drone then flies to various points along this imaginary sphere and takes pictures in an orientation determined by the origin point. For the y axis (pitch), 0° is camera point straight, -90° is down. Values < -90° are compensated for by spinning the drone 180°. For the z axis (yaw), 0° is due north.

Units of elev and radius are in meters if not specified (can specify in one of m, km, ft, mi (miles))

  • --lat latitude for sphere center
  • --lng longitude for sphere center
  • --elev elevation for sphere center
  • --radius radius of sphere
  • --y0 start roll around y axis (pitch)
  • --y1 end roll around y axis
  • --z0 start roll around z axis (yaw)
  • --z1 end roll around z axis
  • --degPerPhoto how far to rotate between photos at 0° camera angle (takes fewer photos as the angle lowers)
