a: Typesafe Redux action creation utility

A zero-dependency, boilerplate-reducing utility for easily creating typesafe Redux actions in TypeScript.

Install

Tips

The aim of this project is to reduce boilerplate but also aid readability of action files. Ideally, the action and types will fit on one line each. However, Prettier's 80 character line-length limit may make this difficult. One way to give yourself more characters, is to export all the actions at the end of the file:

If you have many actions in a file, separating the action construction and the TS type declarations aids readability. You will soon realise if you've forgotten the TS type when you come to use it in reducers, tests etc.

Depending on your tslint config, the payload object can either be written as

{} as { str: string }

or

<{ str: string }>{}

Development

Clone repo and install dependencies using NPM:

npm i

Source for a can be found in src/a.ts.

Run the demo redux app using:

npm start

Remember to update the CHANGELOG and bump the version number using npm version patch, npm version minor, or npm version major. Publish to registry using npm publish --access public.
