dynamodb-quick

The AWS DynamoDB CLI seems to not accept the JSON that it spits out on the describe table CLI command, this takes that same JSON and creates a new dynamoDB table.

Usage no npm install needed!

<script type="module">
  import dynamodbQuick from 'https://cdn.skypack.dev/dynamodb-quick';
</script>

README

dynamodb-quick

Creates a table in dynamoDB from a supplied JSON file conforming to the format of the dynamoDB describe table response. The AWS CLI seems to not accept the same JSON that dynamoDB pumps out, this does.

Example use:

Create a dynamoDB table in the local dynamodb:

 dynamodb-quick-table  ./TableDescription.json --region eu-west-1 --endpoint http://localhost:8000

Install

This operates as a CLI, install via npm:

npm install -g dynamodb-quick

Use case:

I use this to stand up local development environments in docker containers, this CLI is used to create the tables on the dynamoDB container.
