Gematria

Functions to calculate numeric value of Hebrew text according to various methods of Jewish numerology

Example

NB. Any input string is sanitized of all non-Hebrew characters.

Methods

var Gematria = require('gematria');

Gematria#toMisparGadol()

Returns the value counting the sofit (final form) characters with values assigned from 500 to 900.

Gematria#toMisparHaPanim()

Returns the absolute numerical value (or face value) of each of the 22 letters of the otiyot (Hebrew letters).

Gematria#toMisparHechrachi()

Another name for the mispar hapanim method and, as such, is an alias of it within the API.

Gematria#toMisparSiduri()

Return the numerical value using each letters ordinal value (ie. from 1 to 22).
